Reports turn a dataset’s analysis into a shareable document. The editor is block-based — drag in charts, surprise findings, feature importances, sample rows, headings, and free text — and a single click exports it to PDF.

Block types

  • Headings & text. Markdown-style narrative.
  • Charts. Bar, line, and distribution charts driven by SQL or semantic-layer data.
  • Data blocks. Sample rows from the dataset, with column visibility controls.
  • Surprise findings. Pulls the latest Surprise Finder results.
  • Feature importance. EBM-derived global importance and feature-effect curves.
  • Metadata. Row counts, column counts, last refresh timestamp, target column.

Editing model

  • Owners see the full block editor with drag-and-drop reordering.
  • Shared viewers see a read-only preview that mirrors the PDF output.
  • AI suggestions can propose blocks based on what’s in the dataset; you accept or reject them as pending changes.

Exporting

PDF generation runs asynchronously. The preview shows the rendered output as you build, and the Export action produces a downloadable PDF that matches the preview exactly. Reports that include surprise findings or feature importance always pull the latest version of those artifacts at export time.

Templates

Every dataset starts with a default template tuned for its data shape. Reset back to the template at any time, or save your edits as the new starting point for future datasets.
